What is meant by flex?

This is the way a board tends to twist. At Stone we evaluate it from 0 to 10. The stiffer a board is, the more it is designed to send & less forgive. Conversely, the softer a board is, the less responsive it will be when relaunching but will forgive you certain mistakes. Let's explain: at the start, the softer a board is, the more over the sessions the board will become a real uncooked sausage. At Stone we consider that riding a board that is a little stiff at the start is really optimal. Why? The core of a board is always made over the days, weeks, months that you ride your board. At Stone, a Flex 7 is considered a good alternative to go everywhere. We will then gravitate between 6 & 8 to lean more or less towards a particular desire as regards the flex.

Flex 6: A slightly soft board, smaller sizes will have fun riding these boards. Bigger ones will have an ultra playful board underfoot. A flex 6 on a freestyle snowboard allows you to shred, freestyle in the park & on the edge of the piste. On a freeride snowboard, this flex allows you to float in the powder & not suffer from the back leg. In splitboard, it's fun without any hassle.

FREESTYLE

Whether you start young or old, we all want to do jumps. Snowboarding is fun, it's rock n' roll. This sport is the antithesis of the ski pole. The goal of any snowboarder is to go over any terrain & jump. Everyone knows how to jump in their own way, small or big jumps. Go through a snowpark & slide on a handrail. The most important thing is the pleasure you will have in doing it. A freestyle snowboard is centered on its inserts. Twin tip. With a twin tip snowboard you can go everywhere with a preference for the snowpark & the slope. Generally more flexible, you will be able to handle your snowboard without any physical suffering. You will be able to do freeride, obviously it will not be the ultimate weapon for doing big slopes & big powder. With your feet centered, your legs will be hot! Don't worry, you will get to the bottom and go back up. You have understood that this type of board is more typical of the classic practice of snowboarding, if you want to push the thing, you will have to add other types of boards to your quiver. The chance you will have is that we offer all the types of snowboards that a rider can look for.

ALL MOUNTAIN

It's a bit like freestyle with a freeride accent. A more experienced rider will take an all mountain snowboard to go everywhere. Both on the slopes and in the powder or in a snowpark. If we have the budget, we will definitely have one board per practice. It's always better, now if we don't want to rack our brains, then we will choose this program to do everything. Generally with a slight set back on the back foot of a few centimeters, we will also notice that the flex is often a little stiffer, which is a little less forgiving than a freestyle board. When we have to send it on the slopes or in variable snow, it will hold better. This is what differentiates a freestyle board from an all mountain. Our Team rider Hugo Serra rides an all mountain in all circumstances. This is the kind of board he rode on the Freeride World Tour with. Chaining beautiful curves then jumping rock bars & doing a little flat... if that's what you're looking for then the all mountain board is the versatile board par excellence.
